Traffic Assignment & Gibbs–Maslov Semirings
نویسندگان
چکیده
The Traffic Assignment problem consists in determining the routes used by sets of network users taking into account the link congestions. In deterministic modelling, Wardrop Equilibriums are computed. They can be reduced to huge nonlinear multiflow problems in the simplest cases. In stochastic modelling, Logit Assignments are used. They can be obtained, mainly, by substituting the minplus semiring by the Gibbs-Maslov semirings x⊕ y = − 1 μ log(e−μx + e−μy) , x⊗ y = x+ y , in the deterministic assignment computations.

Universal algorithms, mathematics of semirings and parallel computations
This is a survey paper on applications of mathematics of semirings to numerical analysis and computing. Concepts of universal algorithm and generic program are discussed. Relations between these concepts and mathematics of semirings are examined. A very brief introduction to mathematics of semirings (including idempotent and tropical mathematics) is presented. Concrete applications to optimizat...
متن کاملDifferent Network Performance Measures in a Multi-Objective Traffic Assignment Problem
Traffic assignment algorithms are used to determine possible use of paths between origin-destination pairs and predict traffic flow in network links. One of the main deficiencies of ordinary traffic assignment methods is that in most of them one measure (mostly travel time) is usually included in objective function and other effective performance measures in traffic assignment are not considere...
متن کاملLiterature Review of Traffic Assignment: Static and Dynamic
Rapid urban growth is resulting into increase in travel demand and private vehicle ownership in urban areas. In the present scenario the existing infrastructure has failed to match the demand that leads to traffic congestion, vehicular pollution and accidents. With traffic congestion augmentation on the road, delay of commuters has increased and reliability of road network has decreased. Four s...

The notion of density of a finite set is introduced. We prove a general theorem of set theory which refines the Gibbs, Bose–Einstein, and Pareto distributions as well as the Zipf law.
متن کاملOn Calibration and Application of Logit-Based Stochastic Traffic Assignment Models
There is a growing recognition that discrete choice models are capable of providing a more realistic picture of route choice behavior. In particular, influential factors other than travel time that are found to affect the choice of route trigger the application of random utility models in the route choice literature. This paper focuses on path-based, logit-type stochastic route choice models, i...
